Reviving this thread to update on my #StarTrekEnterprise rewatch. With the exception of “Fusion”, the run of episodes from “Cold Front” through “Oasis” has been solidly above average. “Sleeping Dogs” is a cool follow-up on Hoshi stepping out of her comfort zone from earlier in the season.

This first quarter of the school year has been incredibly exhausting and to top it off, my wife and I both got sick on the last day and have had to wrangle the twins while down and out this weekend. I don’t know how we are going to finish grades tomorrow when we feel like we do today.

That was a wild game 7. Tough for me to root for either team but I was kind of hoping the underdog pulled through. Most evenly matched World Series in a long time. Alas, it was not in the cards for the Jays. They exploited every weakness they could. An absolute grind.

I miss chatting about #StarTrek and life has been really busy as the end of the marking period looms. What #StarTrek has everyone been watching?

Send me your tips and tricks for getting a two and half year old to go to bed. Been on a stretch for about two weeks where our normal bedtime routine isn’t working and dude has been taking between one and three hours after normal bedtime to actually fall asleep. I am exhausted.

I have been averaging 4 1/2 hours of sleep for the last week and last night, I slept over eight hours. Holy heck, what a wonder drug sleep is.

To the mentally sick person in the Costco who emptied my cart and stole it while I was gone for three minutes using the restroom, I hope someone dings your car in the parking lot.

The staff bathroom was out of order today and my coworkers were speculating why, so I likened it to Neelix’s cheese from “Learning Curve”. Later in the day, I went to the other staff bathroom, and saw one of my coworkers had done this to the Out of Order one 🤣 #StarTrekVoyager

I almost got hit by 3 different vehicles during my commute this morning and all of them were speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. The last one literally ran me into the grass median. Slow down y’all. Your life (and those around you) are worth more than the consequences of such recklessness.

I began my first foray into the world of Vonnegut. I am reading Breakfast of Champions. I can’t remember reading a first chapter quite so bold and provocative as this one. The words on Kilgore Trout’s memorial particularly resonate: “We are healthy only to the extent that our ideas are humane.”

I can breathe a sigh of relief today. For the past 3 years, my neighbor’s Bernese mountain dog has terrorized me and my dogs from his yard. The problem was that the neighbors had a 4 foot old rickety fence for this giant dog and several times the gate had broken, leaving the dog able to get free.

I love that they use the "Galaxy" font used for the Star Trek films, DS9, and Voyager for Starfleet Academy.

I have not listened to the new Ed Sheeran album yet because I decided to do a full discography run through first because it’s been a while. Early Ed Sheeran was so dang good and unique in a way that only he could bring to the table. I saw him live on the X tour and it really was so impressive.

I’ve been rolling through #StarTrekEnterprise and haven’t stopped to capture my thoughts here. “Strange New World” is not as good as “Fight or Flight” but still a solid look at the hubris of humanity when it comes to diving headfirst into new territory. The rock people hallucinations are great.

"Terrarium" is an excellent episode of #StarTrek. Melissa Navia does amazing work carrying the story and emotionally centering everything. Extra props to the always amazing Celia Rose Gooding, who also totally crushed it this week. This skillful production nails all of the emotional beats. 🖖

#StarTrekVoyager season 7 ranks. There’s not a lot that hits top tier #StarTrek but it is consistently above average. Might attempt a full series ranking but that’s much tougher.

I really like #StarTrekEnterprise “Fight or Flight.” It’s a great Hoshi episode that highlights the early days of pioneering and learning how to communicate while adapting to strange and new environments. I love how it pushes Hoshi to rise to the occasion. The Axanar ship is creepy and visceral.

My first #StarTrekEnterprise rewatch began last night. Broken Bow still rocks from start to finish. I love the introduction of the Temporal Cold War and the Suliban. The T’Pol/Archer dynamic and the beginning of learning to trust each other is solid. One of the #StarTrek franchise’s best pilots.

It has been the absolute most beautiful day weather wise in a long time. It’s been in the high 60s, breezy, and sunny most of the day and only recently creeped up to the 70s. We’ve had the windows open all day and the air off in the house. It has been a long time since we were able to do this.

I finished my #StarTrekVoyager rewatch this morning. It feels bittersweet as it’s been a good comfort zone through a lot of life changes. I’m a bit embarrassed to say the rewatch started on October 3rd, 2022, which was 1062 days ago (a pace of one episode every six days). Definitely a slow burn.

I rewatched #StarTrekVoyager “Renaissance Man”, an episode I had zero memory of. I found it to be quite good and enjoyed the return of the Hierarchy aliens, although it felt a little inconsequential being the second to last episode of the series. Would have been better earlier in the season.
