We took the twins to see Toy Story 5 today and it was their first movie in the theaters! They got a little antsy towards the end, but they did great! Toy Story 5 was way better than Toy Story 4. The “screen time” message is good, but also makes me sad because it’s so real.

We rarely have chips in the house so this is news to probably only me, but Utz came out with a Mike’s Hot Honey flavor that is phenomenal. Sweet up front and heat on the finish. So good.

Fun fact: I’m allergic to fireworks, so I hate this holiday. I am pretty sure my extended family doesn’t believe I’m really allergic, so no one seems to care about keeping the doors closed or letting the smoke in the house while they’re lighting stuff off outside. Super annoying.

My early morning coffee thought is that “Phoebe and Jay” on PBS Kids are named that because they are fraternal twins and they go together like…PB&J As a dad of fraternal twins, I should have figured this out sooner and I’m disappointed in myself.

A fun little #StarTrek project I’ve been working on. I have acquired a ceiling light from Nahla Ake’s quarters from #StarfleetAcademy. The original LEDs were toast, so I replaced them with WS2805 LEDs. Love having a cool little Star Trek mood lamp on my desk, straight from the USS Athena herself!

The weather has been so nice that most days this week the twins and I have been able to enjoy breakfast on the deck in the shade. It’s been breezy, low humidity, beautiful temps, and therapeutic. I know it won’t last all summer but heck am I enjoying it now.

I miss when government workers were teleworking all the time. My Friday commute, when government workers are usually off, is about 50 min in the morning. Monday through Thursday, my commute is over an hour and 10 min. Too many cars back on the road and I don’t even wanna think about the pollution.

Thanks to a "work-related" conversation about stardates earlier today, I now want to write a #StarTrek: Discovery story set during the fifth season or soon after those events (not counting the time jump) for the sole purpose of employing the stardate 867530.9. This is now my mission in life.

I totally missed that Alex posted a summary of our #StarTrekAdventures campaign’s first season. This honestly was such a blast! Can’t wait for season 2 to start in a few more weeks! 🖖🏻

As a chemistry teacher, I always wished that #StarTrek would show more chemistry/lab-related things. #StarfleetAcademy achieved that and I was thrilled. I am very lucky to have great friends in this community and as a result, have been able to add lab glassware from the #StarfleetAcademy production.

I have been sick for most of this week so ended up binging a lot of #StarTrekEnterprise. Watched “The Expanse” through “Similitude” and while not a perfect run (“Extinction” and “Exile” yeesh), there’s a ton of great #StarTrek here.

I hit 100,000 miles in the Toyota Highlander today. I bought the car in 2020 when I had a much shorter commute so I never expected to hit it this quickly. It is amusing to me that I have averaged 47 miles per day… Even my car is #StarTrek to the core.

Wesley Bear turns 9 today. He’s such a sleepy snuggly boy and is so sweet with the twins. Can’t believe he’s been in our lives for 7 years already. My boy is getting old 🥺

My three year old son is in love with The Very Hungry Caterpillar and it’s the cutest thing ever. He will sit down with the book and recite the whole thing out loud cover to cover. We also got him a sensory bin sandbox that is TVHC-themed and he loves digging up all the fruits and ordering them 😂

The Orioles win 6-2 to take 2 of 3 in the series vs. the Giants. They have won 5 of their past 6. The O's, Rays and Yankees are now all tied atop the American League East standings at 8-7. Last year, the O's were never above .500 after falling to 3-3 on April 2.

A couple of big things to celebrate over the past few weeks: 1) The twins turns 3 a few weeks ago! Three-nager mode is fully engaged, but it’s a lot of fun and my kids are super sweet. They love reading 😍 2) I forgot that First Contact Day was my two year anniversary without alcohol. Time flies.

I'm going to watch First Contact with my family today. Sure it takes place 10-11 days before Easter in 2063, but with a story about mankind's rising from the ashes and rebirth into the best version of itself, I'm treating it like a secular Easter movie.

Today’s game was a prime example of how hosed the #Orioles had been by umpires in the past. ABS absolutely saved us today.

March has been a big month financially for me and it’s worth celebrating. We refinanced our mortgage, paid off my laptop, paid off our HVAC system a year early, and paid off my car. I know most of that freed up monthly expense is going to daycare starting in August but it feels good to be free.

I went to see #ProjectHailMary the other day and didn’t check the showtimes closely enough, and it turned out to be a 4DX showing. The movie was a phenomenal adaptation, but basically riding a roller coaster while watching was whacky lol. Gosling was a better Ryland Grace than I expected.

20 episodes into #StarTrek, the Klingons don't exist yet. 20 episodes into TNG, Tasha's alive. 20 episodes into DS9, the Dominion has never been mentioned. 20 episodes into VOY, there's FIFTY episodes to go before Seven of Nine arrives. We'll never know what we're missing with #StarfleetAcademy.

I fell off of my #StarTrekEnterprise rewatch thread but I have since watched nearly all of season 2 and am approaching the finish line. “Regeneration” (which I love) is next. There’s a tough slog in the middle of season 2, but once you hit “Future Tense”, this season course corrects HARD.
