Today, February 20th, would have marked the 100th birthday of one my favorite writers and earliest influences, the great Richard Matheson. I AM LEGEND remains one of my very favorite novels, more than 45 years after I discovered it in my school’s library.

I did a quick tally and it seems I have just 55 more days of setting an alarm on a school day for the rest of my life. W00t.

Was finally able to watch this tonight. It's a wonderful tribute to the making of one of science fiction's most iconic space vehicles. I'm just about the same age as the film's director, Jeffrey Morris, and the Eagle landed for 8-year old me the same it apparently did for him back in September 1975.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the biggest TV confrontation since Kirk fought the Gorn: Steve Austin against Sasquatch in the first half of "The Secret of Bigfoot," the classic 2-part episode of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. Little 9-year old Dayton was pretty captivated that evening, you know.

Went to a local eatery last night and they were doing a BIG BANG THEORY trivia game. Except for Youngest's friend, none of us had seen an episode in years and we still ended up coming in second. Not bad. Oh, and our table's team name?
