I LOVE Oxford Blood by Rachael Davis-Featherstone. It's a fantastic, twisty turny, YA thriller - an absolute gem of dark academia. Delving into themes of corruption, with menace lurking and a brave and brilliant heroine in Eva, this is a MUST for your bookshelf!

Bunch of people going to have opinions about this, but it’s correct. A large amount of the British public read comics as kids, however because there is no inclusion in education, because trad publishers haven’t made them, because of lack of funding, etc. they stop reading them as they grow up.

2026 is The Year of Reading, and I am determined I promote that reading is fun, and how it's important to understand that fun reading is different for everyone. Allow children to choose. A joke book may not be your jam, but it may be the definition of reading being fun for someone else!

Reading joke books is absolutely a form of reading for pleasure. Fiction, prose, poetry, comics, jokes, pictures, non-fiction, all reading, all fun. Read your way, it doesn't matter how you choose to digest your books 📚 (except maybe don't eat them. Unless you're The Incredible Book Eating Boy)

We have a group of teens in right now absolutely vibing to picture books and living their best lives. The grins as they all recite We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen!

Also, for anyone who hasn’t encountered Britannica’s Children’s Encyclopaedia as yet, the new, updated edition is a thing of absolute beauty. It’s superb.
