I refuse to put my personal information at risk. I refuse to support a platform that censors queer creators. I refuse to accept they're protecting kids while putting countless in harm. Sometime between January 25th and February 7th this year YouTube quietly updated its hate speech policy to remove protections for people being targeted with hate on the basis of gender identity and expression. Starting today YouTube is going to be censoring queer creators directly

It should also be stated that this is part of a very long ploy to use the restriction of adult content to censor LGBTQ+ content as well. We're already seeing this happen with video games with games featuring lesbian content getting targeted, even if they don't contain adult material

YouTube Kids in particular is a prime example of this. It has zero quality control and is filled to the brims with harmful ads made to take advantage of kids. Content that is clearly made for adults is consistently marked for kids and even when they claim to manually review it they'll reject appeals

Just like with Visa and Mastercard, YouTube doesn't care about children. YouTube has a long history of targeting and demonetizing videos that speak out against exploitation of children while never touching the hundreds upon hundreds of videos that target children while violating community guidelines

Today YouTube launched their new AI age verification tool. This system uses your watch history to determine your age and if the AI decides you're underage it locks you out of content they deem inappropriate until you send them a government-issued ID, credit card or an image of your face
