Day 26 of #pleinairpril! Boulder Downs ❄️

Sequential art will humble you. It is very easy to assume that being AMAZING at individual illustrations would translate to instantly being amazing at comics, but it is a completely different skill set with completely different rules you will only learn by just Making More Comics.

And for the record? You get over being bad at something really quickly. There is a very thin line between obsessing over whether every panel is a tiny masterpiece and being thankful that a panel is serviceable--that it accomplishes something that needs done. That line is different for everyone, but:

praying for twitter to finally do something completely egregious like edit ur art on upload so ppl can freak out and be active on here like the world is ending again

creators get better by finishing projects no project ever comes out as good as it is in your imagination but that’s ok, the next one will be better also it’s ok if projects fail, taking risks and big swings is an important part of growing as a creator

Day 14 - the castle tree #pleinairpril @warriorpainters the composition and area was stunning in person, but i chose a smaller part of the picture. I spent a lot trying to fix it with shadows, but I accidentally realized it needed lights instead.
