ooh that really made me think... my view is narrow as well. but whenever I'm asked what my inspiration for comics is, I would always say music and games, which are an entirely different field. I guess it counts.

When you're a musician and only listen to game OSTs, or a furry artist and all you do is watch cartoons and play video games, or on the flipside you're a writer that only reads classics, your scope is going to be narrowed. You need a healthy mix of everything

it is actually possible to draw something and go "well. I'm pretty displeased with how that turned out." and not have that collapse your entire sense of self worth. it's possible to go "oh well haha" and then enjoy the rest of your day. and, get this: you can still make good art that way
