I find funny how people are eating Larian excuse of "it's not for final concept art, it's just for references to make that concept art" as if we artist weren't EXHAUSTED of avoiding AI images when looking for references everytime we don't filter our searchs by year. AI references are useless

ew imagine having to use actual resources like Art Books to develop ideas lol let’s use ai to steal real ideas, mash them into something contextless, yet indiscriminately referential, and then take whatever median slop it’s able to spit out, instead.

so the ai comes up with the “concept” part of concept art, and THEN the world class artists photobash and paint over the concept that nobody could be fucked to conceptualize.

Does this man even know what concept art is? Does he know what his hired concept artists actually do? Fuck does it mean, "explore references"? You don't have google? You don't have folders upon folders of images? You can't just go outside and snap some photos? Why do you need the plagiarism bot?

I won't trust any big game company from 2026 onwards. If a small, indie studio explicitly states they don't use AI I'll believe it, because I want to believe it. But big developers? I've lost my faith in them.

Concept art IS 👏 A 👏 JOB! 👏 Concept art is a job! CONCEPT ART IS A JOB! It’s not a boring, tedious, low skill, or time wasting part of the creative process that needs to be streamlined! Concept artists are professionals and don’t need to be replaced, much less by generative ai slop!
