Most people struggle with % decreases. That's both understandable and forgiveable. What's unforgiveable is to choose this as a soundbite without making sure it's right, and then - worse - to have it pointed out to you and still not check.

This should surprise exactly no one. The invention of the chain saw didn't reduce the workload of loggers. It increased it because they could cut down trees faster. Same for every other technical innovation from the plow to the word processor.
