Phew. The latest Amazing Digital Circus dropped and...well...it was good but also tough. It started out as a fun and heartwarming show with touches of darkness and existential horror. It has now dropped the veil of sweetness and I feel like I just sat through an episode of "Saw: The Animated Series"

They held a consultation – which many of us (including me) – responded to. We all said we hated the idea. They listened and responded to that consultation. This is good and exactly how things *should* work.

A good understanding of my brain: I started watching Visions of Escaflowne casually and I just spent an hour pondering the fact that they chose to translate The Hanged Man into Italian as L'impiccato rather than the usual L'Appeso, and what it means for the themes. Even though it's probably nothing.

The final episode of King of the 7 Kingdoms definitely moved the class critique from thinly vieled subtext to 6ft neon letters. You have Dunc saying if rulers are privileged they are shit & a break in the usual classical music to play Sixteen Tons, a song about being a coal miner for a corporation.

You know, it is a funny thing, perceptions of media. I was encouraged to watch Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, being told it was a humorous fairytale style take on Westeros. Whilst I kind of enjoy it, I see it as almost the opposite, a Grim piece of pseudohistorical social realism, about classism.
