In retrospect I think it was kinda cool to be 16 in 2008. The world was a total mess and the economy was in shambles but there was also a vague sense of optimism you couldn’t help but feel. But this was also the age when I discovered furry, so my experience might be colored by that discovery

Something ive learned through studying Japanese for a very long time is that language comprehension is often more contingent on context/expectation than perfectly understanding every bit of grammar/syntax. Been rereading the ASOIAF books from the very beginning the past few weeks. Currently on AFFC and I have to say it’s very funny how imbalanced this particular book is. Every chapter involving Cersei is hilarious and so good but then you get to Euron and Darkstar and they feel like deviantart OCs

I had a dream that I committed some kind of crime and was put under house arrest here but I got to stay in some random nice lady’s apartment and she had pets so it was alright. I was mostly worried that somehow my friends back in the US would find out I was under house arrest and get soo embarrassed

In retrospect I’m mad I didn’t get any of these things while I was here
