Anyone who is part of the federal government who is not doing everything in their power to stop this administration, regardless of the assumed cost to normalcy or career, is a coward and a collaborator.

Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since. That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.

You win some you lose some. The handle on this piece was definitely cursed (it broke again during glaze fire and fell and got stuck where it is), and I was too heavy handed with glaze. Will try the same concept later!

I've increasingly come to view cynicism as the seedbed of totalitarianism, both because it can paralyze the opposition and because it implicitly validates the might-makes-right ethic of the authoritarian.

For years, many of us have tried to get people to care about criminalization with only limited success. We made the point that criminalization is fascism's fuel. And I really really hope that more people now understand this.

film. We're privately funding development, so budget isn't Hollywood. I want queer and/or nonwhite artists. I want cool styles. Links? Tags? Self-promo?

A lifetime of hearing US politicians solemnly intone about the glories of the constitution and the sacredness of law. Now they don’t even have the post 9/11 fig leaf. The whole vast military machinery is the plaything of a senile old man and his corrupt circle and most of them don’t care

It’s so hard for locally-owned venues. Go out more. See more bands. Netflix will be there when you get back. Make memories because it all slips away far too soon. No one turns 80 and says “remember that time we watched TV on a Saturday night?”
