Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

Growing up, I appreciated cartoons like Batman the Animated Series, Gargoyles or the X-Men cartoons for not talking down to the audience and treating them like a thinking being. But it seems to much media these days for kids sanitizes thing to keep things "safe" for them.

Toby Fox randomly shows up in a cartoon to voice a pirate skeleton with green in the design... EVERYTHING is foreshadowing. Isn't it?
