Doing epic gamer stuff

I like the term and find it very useful, although when applied to part of experiences rather than the entire experience. For example: The differences between the player fantasy of using magical weapons (either tricky, making them feel smart, or raw power) and the fantasy of scythes (edgy +AoE)

Reminder that the whole Mandate of Heaven thing was because a corrupt dynasty stops investing in the infrastructure necessary for human survival. Droughts and famines and plagues get much more deadly when all the resources that would have been spent on em, gets diverted to a handful of failsons.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

Can't reply so QRT, but I'd argue that there is NO substitue to the service provided by steam, and they are charging high rates already, with the ability to make them higher without it threatening their own position. There are other storefronts/launchers, but it's really not the same "service."

I find it interesting how some of the most (seemingly) beloved game genres are also the hardest to define. Immersive sims, incremental games, roguelites/roguelikes, etc.

Why am I seeing the term 'fidelity' everywhere all of a sudden. I swear I never saw it a few years ago, now it's everywhere. Feels like some marketing gimmick that went mainstream, but I can't put my finger on it.

Trying to balance Stellaris is a Sisyphean task, especially with patches and DLC being released all the time. Credit to Paradox for doing their best on this front, but things like the Knights of the Toxic God and Virtual seriously need to be looked at. #stellaris

I have a theory that the average non-DND playing person has an easier time “role-playing” when you assign them an explicit role rather than leave them to “choose” like most RPGs do. Friendslop games are good at assigning easy-to-grok roles so you tend to see more players get into character!

Playing through LOK DIGITAL (store.steampowered.com/app/2207440/...) < a very cute and very fun puzzle game! Finished the first world (puzzles 10, 11, and 12 are extra challenges and thus optional) and loving it!
