Oh it's portfolio day again? It feels like these just spring up out of nowhere, I'm convinced someone just posts their art with "portfolio day!" and everyone else just follows along.

I think I bit off more than I could chew with the hot air balloon animation project so I'm dialing back a bit and working on something else instead. It's a good lesson for me though, I jumped into that before I was really ready to do that kind of project!

I'm in the stage of learning animation where I'm overwhelmed by everything and questioning my life decisions, so it's going well I think. #animation

I'm working on an animation for a personal project and I'm learning that the animation part is, while time consuming - really fun. The hard part is discovering I need to learn *cinematography*, which is a whole other skillset. My animations sure do look like animations, just... really dull ones.

Artist friends, help. I closed down my RedBubble a while ago as I felt like I can't vet whether or not they use sweatshops, and it's the same with all print on demand shops. Are there any alternatives I can use that have been vetted? Am I being too stuck up with my distaste of RB? Do I suck it up?

Does anyone else start listening to sad music when you're supposed to be doing other stuff, but the sad music is so nice and comforting that you can't pause it to do other things, so you just sit there listening to sad music gradually getting more depressed? Just me?

If anyone remembers this, an update: She asked for a refund and has been ghosted. The artist has been online, is posting new art regularly, and is still accepting commissions (their fee is £200+). Because it's been over a year I don't think she can even claim a dispute with PayPal, sooo yeah #art
