I’d like to make it up to y’all by sharing one of my favorite natives that currently in crazy bloom on the Greenway: the Texas lantana! They typically grow as short shrubs and bloom from April through October. 🌿

In light of OTHER news, my husband has brought it to my attention that he was never a big My Chemical Romance fan and now I sadly fear that I might have to get a divorce. 😔

In my day to day, I often have to surround myself with neurotypical folks and it’s exhausting often being the sole AuDHDer and folks just choosing to not understand me. With the continued language about autism from our current administration, I feel like jello that’s been dropped on the floor lol 🫠

I’m still alive! Just needed some time off with literally everything that’s happening right now. 😣 I completed my week six of my marathon training block today with a solid 17-miler! I’m getting pretty strong! I’d like to see that pace go down a bit but I’m sooo happy with my progress! 🏃🏻‍♀️😎

🧵🕷️🌿 I didn’t manage a photo this time, BUT I found a wandering male brown recluse in the kitchen this morning lol Just a little PSA as we shift into fall, if you are in recluse country, you may start spotting them inside. They are docile and super easy to catch in a cup and toss outside.

I embrace my running toe blisters because when they heal and crust over and harden, my toes will be impenetrable and nothing but my glycogen storage will stop me.

Also! I completed week 5 of my marathon training block yesterday with a 16-miler and 47 mpw! 😁 I saw another runner with a Y’all Means All cap and we nodded to each other in agreement as we passed on the greenway. They were marathon training too. I could feel it. 😌✊🏻 🏃🏻‍♀️😎

ALSO I ran with a guy who’s a running coach by chance on my weekend long run last week and he asked me what my last half marathon PR was. I told him an 1-hr 38-min and he told me that he has high certainty that I can Boston qualify and guesstimate clocked me at a 3-hr 25-min marathon time BRUH

I had 3 instances of crested caracara-in-the-yard today! The adult + two juvenile sightings. I think the 2 juvie sightings are the same bird. It showed up around lunch to forage in the grass then returned about an hour ago to the ash tree. If you’re new here, hi we got neighborhood caracaras. 🌿🪶

Oh no, I think @imarling.bsky.social has got me hooked on Maurten. I did an 9:30ish-pace 12-mi this morning and man I feel incredible. I downed a drink mix an hour prior, downed a gel at 5 miles and 8 miles and ate a bar post-run. Amazing what good well-timed fuel can do for your training runs lol

Y’ALL. THE COOLEST SHIT OBSERVATION OF MY LIFE 😭 The crested caracara juvies left the nest a few weeks ago. I’ve seen them around while on my runs…but today one of them WAS IN THE FRONT YARD. AND IT WAS PICKING AT A “MAJOR” MALE ALOEUS OX BEETLE. It flew off without the beetle so I got a photo! 🌿🪶

RAAHHHH I’M GOING BACK TO SCHOOL ….Kinda. lol I have the opportunity to online audit some wildlife and sustainable land management classes this semester at no cost at [Redacted] University but I get the certifications and course credits. 😁😁😁 I enrolled and classes start next week! 🤠
