What is "positive masculinity"? What is the act of inscribing a legible difference that will allow us to continue placing men above women while being perhaps less gauche, less supremacist, less extremist? There is no such thing. It's a pyrrhic endeavour. The inscribing is the violence.

When people ask for "positive masculinity" they fundamentally ask to preserve the hierarchy in which manhood sits atop all. A gentler, kinder, less violent---or at least, less OPENLY violent model of manhood. Few are ready to confront that the problem is attempting to preserve manhood at all.

You want a vision of "positive manhood"? Stop being afraid of being like women. Stop refusing to admit women can be like you. Can be better than you, even. And stop maiming and killing and destroying in order to preserve that fiction of superiority.
