Painting banners for larp this week... These ones are for Menhir's fate they will be used by the guilds there. Though I did not design the symbols, it was a really cool challenge to make them make them match what I had been given here on the computer screen.

Menhir's Fate was so good! I am exhausted, but worth it- I haven't had that much fun at a LARP in a very long time. Bring on MF2 🌊

Returned from Menhir's Fate. A brand new UK LARP system. Lots of fun. It's probably the busiest system I've experienced. You couldn't go 30 minutes without a camp attack or one of @sherlockhulmes.bsky.social many clones appearing to cause some level of shenanigan. Good fun. Looking forward to MF2.

What separates formal from informal communities?

When you put together a cast of characters for a short #ttrpg game, do you have any default roles you fill in most games? I.e., the quest giver, the captain, the urchin, the fence, etc...

What is it about assembling new furniture that makes you feel like the next thing you sit down to work at will be a masterpiece?

A thought persists. The success of a community relies on its members holding multiple differing feelings towards each other, often quite polar feelings: she's a fine Sunday school teacher, but she'll embarras everyone if left alone with someone's husband.

I don't know what it is about heavy fog, but I'm haunted by the idea of curling up under a blanket and writing tortured poetry or silly things to do with dice.

This gets a repost just for the phrase: "get to the good stuff as quickly as possible and roll around in it like a dog on a dead skunk" Because, yeah.

Something we TTRPGers all do but don't often think much about: editing scenes. How do you decide when a scene ends and who usually takes the lead on this? This is a great article below - with some take away ideas at the end - as per this screenshot. Definitely worth a read - and an experiment!
