Just finished interviewing Bif Naked and I am a little emotional for my 17-yr old self.

Filmed nearly in my backyard + too believeable, Graham Greene is all calm, righteous fury against the colonial project, using stoic carnage to provoke in this uneasy film, though Arthur's 'crimes' (dead cops, a mild de-barking) are small + personal weighed against the subjugating a whole land.

When the blind guy says touching Cordell's dead hand was like when he was buried under the corpses of his fellow soldiers in WWII I knew MC 2 was special. Shifting from MC 1's giallo-by-golem into an action-heavy near-Frankenstein story REALLY worked, plus the killer pairing of Davi and Christian.

4.5/5. This may have bumped up to the top of my "favorite vampire movie list"? Beautifully shot, masterfully directed, great cast & an excellent story absolutely drowning in erotic tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. 100% recommended for vampire fans looking for immaculate vibes.

Same shelf as Geek Love, Jane Flett's Freakslaw is a bit more complicated that normies vs freaks but is def awash in horny indignation, boozy pathos, destructive masculinity, and six liters of various fluids. It's Something Wicked but w a chain gun of smile bullets, aimed direct at your heart.

Similar to Wonder Woman's Dead World, Swamp Thing: Green Hell (Lemire, Mahnke, Baron) has an eco-apocalypse, a reluctant hero, plucky humans - and giant, gooey monsters rampaging across gorgeous splash pages. Add some emo weight w friends and family and you got a beautifully rocking ST story.

A perfect example of why you should never piss off the witches. The Adams family, once again, create some of the finest independent horror on planet Earth. It’s a film that maximizes color. In an era of bland, dark cinematography, this movie shines. This is one mean motherfucker, man. 📽️🩸
