We had over 30 people turn out for our event on housing and homelessness in Sacramento County last night. Thanks to Supervisor Rich Desmond, County Planning Director Todd Smith, and Deputy County Executive Dave DeFanti for a great panel discussion. And thanks to 19 Handles for hosting us.

In case you had any doubts about just how deeply pro-housing Sacramento is, it just elected the guy whose top priority is literally: “Increasing quality housing supply at all income levels while protecting renters”

None of the three story townhomes in this picture would be allowed under Sacramentos bulk control requirements, which are currently the law of the land in all formerly R1 and R2 zones. It’s a problem. We have to fix that before we see meaningful outcome change.
