I had the pleasure last night of hearing Jared Sullivan speak at @thankyoubooks.bsky.social about his important book Valley So Low which follows a small Tennessee town's fight for justice after a deadly environmental disaster.

Both John Green and Suzanne Collins have new books out today, and @thankyoubooks.bsky.social reminded me that they both went to HS in Birmingham — John to the boarding school where I used to work, which features in Looking for Alaska, and Suzanne to our magnet arts public HS downtown.
