Rabbit took it, holding it tightly while he rotated it. Then, with a shake that sounded like if you shook a drawer full of silverware, he placed it next to his ear. “Hm. Not a bomb.” And then with a disturbing quickness, he tore into the gift.

“Might as well give it to me… unless you’re my present? My own little hero to keep? I’ll put you on a shelf and make sure you’re dusted every day.”

“Who said I didn’t mean it?” His hum turned into a quiet chuckle. “So, what were you wrapping?”

“Stupid is the new sexy,” he offered, letting out a pleased hum as he cut the ribbon. On cue, his heart beat in his chest, visible to Rose, like a cartoon character seeing a hot person.

“You do look good, but it’s only fun if you /want/ to be tied up.” Cue comically large scissors being pulled from Rabbit’s pocket, ready to snip the strands.

“And if I don’t?” A finger dragged slowly along Rose’s jawline. “You look good like that.”

“My, my. A bundle of Roses just for me? Maybe I should… unwrap my gift.”

If @eyes-for-disguise.bsky.social checked outside his door, there would be an almost too perfectly wrapped present sitting on the doormat. A small tag would just have a picture of a particularly impish bunny.
