Last night's setlist from the birthday celebrations at Mono, thanks so much to all who came. Crossed wires with the venue meant that I couldn't play anything from CD, thankfully I had everything on a tablet as well which got a fair bit of use. All worth it to have the chance to PLAY LOUD.

Glasgow's Spacemen 3 connections (part 4)... The Queen Margaret Union, known by all as QMU, part of Glasgow Uni's student union, is a live venue that has been around for ages.

From a debut album filled with fuzzy, garage-rock-distorted punk covers and longform jams to concise, psych pop originals, cleaned-up songwriting and a much wider sonic landscape on album #2. Perfect Prescription was where Pete and Jason really flexed their songwriting chops for real.

Glasgow's Spacemen 3 connections (part 3)... "Think it's gonna end pretty soon..." - exactly two months before the final Spacemen 3 gig at the 1989 Reading Festival, the band returned to Glasgow for the second time that year, this time playing at Mayfair.

Glasgow's Spacemen 3 connections (part 2)... Apart from a one-off gig in London on 2 January, Spacemen 3's first gig of 1989 was at Fury Murrys, Glasgow, on 23 February. As with all of their Glasgow dates, there are no photos or recordings I know of.

Glasgow's Spacemen 3 connections (part 1)... The first Spacemen 3 gig I'm aware of in Scotland was the one at Rooftops, Glasgow, 20 March 1988. Following the January/February '88 European tour, Rosco left the band, leaving them short of a drummer when these already-arranged gigs came around.

I am excited to reveal that we will be playing a couple of exclusives on the night. The first is a cover of a key Spacemen 3 track by Slipstream, recoded a couple of years ago but not yet released.
