Grasping in class yesterday for a way of describing the situation where institutions deliberately have procedures in place to slow things down and deny responsibility, I landed on the phrase ‘motivated structural inefficiency’. Widespread and growing, I believe.

Incredible turnout and atmosphere in Budapest as huge crowds march in defiance of Viktor Orbán. Mayor Karácsony has shown tremendous leadership, and the organisers huge courage. It was an honour to march in solidarity with Hungary’s LGBTQI+ community.
