I dug up a 2010 backup of The Curse of Issyos, from back when it was styled like an arcade game. The project began as an 8-bit game, then evolved into this, and eventually split into two projects: the arcade-style Maldita Castilla (2012) and the 8-bit Issyos that was released later (2015).

Watched three Puppet Master movies tonight. One was fun (3), one was...okay (2), and one was fucking garbage (Doktor Death). Aside from like...one(?) scene, they didn't even try to actually animate the puppet in Doktor Death. High-ish kill count, but all of the deaths were also lazy.

Beat Final Fantasy XII again yesterday. Forgot how rushed the end felt. Fun game, nothing against it, just seemed like the story went from zero to sixty real quick there.

Watching Red Sonja (2025) for bad movie night. It's more boring than straight up bad, which might be worse. Some of the characters aren't terrible and some scenes are okay, but I mostly just don't care.

Beat DBZ: Legacy of Goku for the first time tonight. Didn't dislike it as much as I was expecting (I didn't like it when I was younger), but I wish melee attacks did more. Just felt like most fights were just me outrunning the baddies, turning around and firing ranged, then running again.

Watched Freddy's Dead for the first time tonight. They had all three main character deaths within the same like...10, 15 minutes? That seems really dumb to me. I mean, a lot of it didn't seem well thought out, but still.

Watching so many Nightmare on Elm Street movies back to back might be ruining the experience for me. It's like 5% interesting shit, 95% "parents just don't understand" or "I'm not crazy, a hundred teenagers dying abnormally isn't normal". I probably should space out the last few.

Doing a 12 hour challenge next Wednesday to learn a new speedrun. Trying to find stuff around 30 minutes so it isn't too short or too long, honestly thinking about Castlevania: Judgement (Castle mode). I like making bad decisions, apparently.

A while back we had the wonderful opportunity to pitch a Red Dwarf adventure game directly to Doug Naylor himself. While the project didn't end up going ahead, we're now free to share some of the work we produced for the pitch!

Picked up Time Crisis for PS5. Was excited to play it, but the motion controls are somehow drifting. Takes like five minutes before I'm essentially holding the controller sideways to keep it centered on the screen. I'll have to see what I can do to prevent that from happening.

Went through WCW vs. nWo: World Tour and Pilotwings 64 tonight. Both are just really solid N64 titles. Might not be in everyone's top 10 N64 games, but definitely should be in like...everyone's top 50. (Even if you don't like wrasslin', World Tour is a fun kind of simplistic.)

Trying to play through Earthworm Jim 3D, and I keep forgetting how bullshit the boss fights are. Just plain ol' unpleasant. Worst of the worst. And they're all essentially the same, so it's not like they were trying and failed.

Went to an antique mall earlier today. Saw a new Mega Man (Ruby-Spears) toy and got excited. Not for $150, that's for darn sure. (I would like to get the rest of the series someday, though.)

Went through Sonic R again tonight. Was going to just get credits but ended up unlocking the characters as well. It's not a good game, but it's a fun game. (Egg Robot is 100% shit, though.)

Watching Star Wars Episode 1 for the first time since it was in theaters (pretty sure). It's designed to be visually appealing, but I'm just bored. Makes me sad, as I enjoy the Star Wars games and whatnot, but I just can't get into the movies. Not for me I guess, oh well.

Played through Digimon Racing (GBA) last night. I stubbornly only played as Gabumon, who has the worst handling and highest possible top speed, yet was still getting frustrated that it was controlling like garbage. I am not a smart individual. (I liked the soundtrack, sounded Genesis-y.)

RPG Maker U2U has been officially revealed which will allow users to create HD-2D-style games. Called "P2D" (Perspective 2D), users can create 3D depth and rich effect expression to conventional 2D maps.

Sometimes I wish we would've gotten a third Legend of Legaia game. I feel like there could've been more with that system (or make it a little more like Hybrid Heaven or something).
