NY Tmes exec editor Joe Kahn said in 2024 that the issue of democracy's survival was not a top priority in his newsroom's coverage. Now Trump is sending federal agents to NYT reporters' homes to deliver subpoenas over coverage he doesn't like. I wonder if democracy is a priority for Joe now.

I’m so tired of these rich, narcissistic, arrogant, entitled jerks from great inherited wealth polluting our politics while claiming they understand the struggles of working people and care about them. It’s about their ego and desire to manipulate, not about us.

Trump spent much of the NATO summit embarrassing himself, insulting allies, rambling about Joe Biden, creeping on Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, insulting NATO some more, praising Putin, and then grovelling to the alliance for help fighting Iran. It was a humiliating performance.

Trump has tried to pit Americans against one another to distract from the real fight: the fact that he and his billionaire buddies are rigging the system against workers.   We must call it out at every turn.

The fundamental choice has not been as stark since World War II: democracy and freedom, or dictatorship and tyranny. Trump and his sycophants are siding with the latter. The rest of us must loudly, proudly, and boldly proclaim our allegiance to the former.
