Hello GC my mums stack of 45s got me into music from a very young age. I was intrigued by her old record player where you’d stack up the 45s and watch them drop. So pre Beatles British pop music figures largely for me. Helen Shapiro, Kenny Lynch, John Leyton and Billy Fury.

Hi Gary, great question. Mum loved Engelbert, Dad loved Frank. Older brother brought me Ian Dury, The Police and The Jam. My 2 older sisters though introduced me at a very young age to The Monkees through Headquarters. I think it was pivotal in my musical education. Perfect pop.

First car... A gorgeous 1969 MGB Roadster, primrose yellow. Was living in London early 90s when I first got it and drove it to work from Muswell Hill to Docklands, hood down, with a northern soul compilation blasting out from the cassette player! I'm told it has been in a couple of TV films too
