We’ve recently realized that one of my older dogs, Max, has become PRETTY deaf. We’ve suspected he might be losing his hearing, but last night we said some of his favorite words to him and got no response from him while our other dogs got excited. He’s always loved being talked to, though.

Still don’t know when we are traveling for the funeral and it’s frustrating. Like, this is not something we want to NOT do? But it sucks to be in a holding pattern this long and I’m tired of it

We tend to get caught up in determining someone’s moral worth as a person when at the end of the day it should be about looking at the harm they cause, why the caused it, if they’re going to do it again or will stop, and if/how they will work to rectify the harm they did. This is what I care about.

My mean-ass mother gets out of immediate mortal peril, I go home, I get ready for some amount of normalcy again, and on my first day back my father-in-law decides to randomly go and pass away. He had leukemia that he and MIL hid from us but that isn’t what got him. He tripped and hit his head.

Went to the city’s other multi-table D&D campaign last night and it was really fun! Both enjoyed playing for its own sake and got some fun ideas to take. Mostly: we need to find a way to get one of our players to switch tables mid-session! That happened and it was a fun moment for the whole group.

Geez, sold out all 14 seats for my D&D group in 20 minutes. I’m not ready for 14 to not be enough yet!

I took a trip to Mexico City in 2023 and took a language class. We’d work on Spanish in the morning, and then go to a significant location and learn about it from the teacher. One of the locations was Diego Rivera’s murals at the SEP. They were a harsh reminder of the USA’s imperialism.
