HAVE FUN, GOOD LUCK, DON’T DIE’s issues are “three beat” issues because the third beat (Richardson’s) doesn’t escalate from the previous two, but it has to live where it does because of the plotting. It’s a problem that wasn’t solved and makes the movie have a weird shape.

Giving my BACKROOMS star-rating an uptick because I just watched HARRY & THE HENDERSONS and if that is very much a “three star” movie then BACKROOMS can’t be just a half-fraction above that. 🤔

Watched PIG. MILK, BEEF, FRIED GREEN TOMATOES, BANANAS, and RATATOUILLE today. I was also going to watch DELICATESSEN, but there was no reason to by the time I was done.

I think Jordan Peele may have sowed the seeds for a bigger general audience acceptance of not-easily-categorized “weird shit” horror that we’re currently reaping the fruit of.

If you’re craving something with an identical vibe to BACKROOMS, you gotta see CHANNEL ZERO. You will have a favorite season and a least favorite season, but you won’t know which one it is for you until you watch it all, so get crackin’.

Is SERIAL EXPERIMENT LAIN part of the anime canon? What about FLCL? Are these shows that still get watched, like COWBOY BEBOP or INU YASHA do, or were they sorta left behind?
