Has anyone else noticed that gmail now has auto-activated it's new "I think you write badly, I will underline all of your terrible writing so I can give you suggestions that will make your emails completely soulless" feature and it appears impossible to turn off?

So AI provides unreliable information, creates mediocre work, enriches billionaires at everyone else’s cost, was created by plagiarism, and is environmentally completely unsustainable. But other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?

The most horrifying iteration I've seen of this so far was the case of Christopher Pelkey. His family used AI to make a "statement of loss" from Christopher...about his own murder. I immediately put a clause in my will to disallow anything like that for me.

He implies the simplest explanation is that this has already been thoroughly investigated. The actual simplest explanation is powerful people protect each other and pay their way out of consequences.

I feel like my dialogue is really strong. I can write good bonds; you will believe these two people love each other, this group is genuinely friends, this family is close, etc. I can write a good nightmare. And I've been told my portrayal of anxiety is so realistic some people can't handle it!

I spent most of today refreshing this. I was losing hope about a week ago and then in the last couple days everyone's support and generosity took my breath away. Thank you all for spreading the word, for keeping up the hype, and for getting this project to its goal. This is so very deserved.

Half the reason I don't want genAI is because I love the weird behind the scenes stuff. Viggo Mortenson broke his foot on a helmet, Cary Elwes laughed so much he had to be replaced by a dummy, the Toasty! Easter egg was an inside joke, etc. I like human stuff in my art, damnit.
