Using a combination of glitches in Super Mario World, Yoshi can be taken into the final battle, where he can eat Peach upon Bowser's defeat. With Peach gone, the ending will not play, and Mario and Yoshi will simply stare at each other forever.

First I heard of this, and while at least the option for the original graphics are there, so you don't have to use the bad graphics, it's still fuckin' nuts to ask that much for just R-Type III. Could've at least thrown Super on there too while you were at it with a fastrom enabled.

This continues to be one of my favorite cover arts ever, you kinda just stare at it for a while and wonder what these weird anomaly critters are, and it captures just how unearthly and unusual the entire setting is despite having familiar landscapes.
