OF COURSE the day after Austin Hill gives us a feel good moment with the first RCR win since Kyle Busch’s passing (drove a great race at the end), he wipes out nearly all of my fantasy lineup today on a restart. 🙃

Caught one rainbow, and then a very faint double rainbow!! 🌈🌈

After crossing the Tunkhannock Viaduct, I was able to drive down to Scranton just in time to see 4014 approaching the entrance to Steamtown (where it had a brief meeting with Baldwin 26 before eventually heading down to Nesquehoning). My lone, clear shot of 4014 in action, but I got the shot!

Don't think I've had the chance to post about this on here yet, but Obsession was a pretty great movie (I've seen it twice already), and I'm not even a super horror buff (though there is still in that genre that I do like). Inde Navarrette's performance was incredible.

That run to the finish in the Nashville race the other night between the three JGR teammates was awesome. On the whole, that Nashville race has to be one of the best Cup Series races of the year thus far.

It's still early in the race obviously, but this HAS to be SVG's best performance on a non-superspeedway oval to date. Holding the lead and fighting off the likes of Larson, Bell, and Reddick for as long as he did on just two tires is nothing short of impressive.

That battle for the lead in the second stage between Jesse Love and Justin Allgaier was excellent. Pure racing.

The Kyle Busch news is just….devastating. Words can’t even begin to describe how tragic his passing is. Easily one of the ten greatest NASCAR drivers of all time (and one of the best drivers in the world for many years). A truly special talent behind the wheel.

Quite the start to this All-Star Race at Dover. Two massive multi-car wrecks in the first segment.

It's honestly amazing to me that, of all races, the Dover All-Star Race is the one that has the early afternoon start time that most fans actually want across the board.

It needs to be pointed out that, according to the Observer at the time, Vince McMahon personally called Ted Turner in 1989 to beg him to make sure that WCW didn't initiate a bidding war so they could both keep talent costs down.

RIP Ted Turner. His impact in this world is far beyond it, but I’m thankful he kept the lights on for WCW as long as he did.

Beyond the influence that Ted's empire had on wrestling pre-90s, if he doesn't buy JCP in the late 80s and there's no WCW, WWF has a monopoly a decade early. No Monday Night Wars to renew the industry after Hulkamania. Wrestling is still run on the playbook that was written then.

Turner was a giant of cable TV, and when wrestling became the first show to hit a million viewers on the emerging technology, it was on Ted's TBS. He never forgot that and stayed loyal for the rest of his career in television:

Apart from Vince McMahon, Ted Turner is the most influential figure of the last 50 years of wrestling. He was Vince's opposite, chaotic good to his chaotic evil: Southern, liberal, Incredibly successful at a million ventures outside of wrestling. No wonder Vince hated him.

This Truck Series race at Texas has to be in contention for race of the year. The action has been freaking amazing.

One of the reasons I always loved the Spring Talladega race was because that’s when Jeff Gordon usually ran his Pepsi paint scheme. Of course, with today being Talladega, I had to bust out the Jeff Gordon Pepsi shirt today for the race. 😁

Was only a matter of time before Hocevar got his first win. What a way to celebrate that first win lol.

This feels like the superspeedway races I've driven on NASCAR 25 where I've turned the fuel consumption and tire wear up to 3X. Everyone is so spread out on their various pit strategies.

Honestly, I've really enjoyed how this first stage has played out, with drivers deciding to just go for it instead of fuel saving, along with multiple pit road issues across the field. If this is convincing me of anything, it's that we don't need stage cautions at the superspeedways.

I'm surprised that it's taken some of these teams until now to go "hey lets just go full throttle" instead of fuel saving with the rest of the pack. You're not going to get anywhere doing the same thing that everyone else is doing. Try something different!

Super curious to see how these changes to stage lengths impacts the racing at Talladega today as well.

Well, the ARCA Menards Series and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series put on some incredibly entertaining races yesterday at Talladega. Would it should me if the Cup Series race is the worst of the weekend? Absolutely not, but hey, it's Talladega. Anything can happen.

So Daniel Dye goes from a Truck Series ride with Kaulig and Dodge, to getting suspended by NASCAR and being released by Kaulig for what he said about David Malukas, to….a part-time Cup Series ride?
