Welp. I am one year older today. It's been a pretty breakthrough year if I'm being honest. Landed several VA agents. Trained for my first Muay Thai fight and got in better shape than I ever had. Grateful for everyone who's been a part of my journey and cheers to another year!

It's been a little while since this one's gotten published, but I'm still pleasantly surprised and grateful when people find it in the wild. 😭

A bit ago, I met the creator of one of the projects I got cast on in person. When I asked them why they picked me, it came down to my voice being closest to what was in their head. Which surprised me because I always felt like I'm always never the voice in someone's head.

Came back from my first actual Muay Thai competition. Lost, though I'm more annoyed that the ref called it way too early and I didn't even get to finish the round. But I had so much fun and two of my teammates won belts and another got so, so close on a split decision. 10/10 would do again :')

Did my first two fights at a Muay Thai scrimmage yesterday. Definitely a lot of fun, though there are things I need to fix. Like keeping my hands up so I don't tank four successive hard punches to the head. ^^; (To the concerned, I'm okay! I was wearing headgear and am not concussed.)

I finally did it! I ran three miles on the treadmill at a 9:50/mile pace! This was one of the benchmarks for the Muay Thai training I'm doing and I've been trying to whip my cardio into shape since January. My hamstrings are not happy with me, but we did it! :D

It surprises me how much more at peace I am with rejection and failure now. I'm a sensitive soul. I can't deny that that stuff still hurts. But now it's like, guess it happened. If I'm not what they wanted, it's their loss. If I need to improve, I figure out next steps. It's simpler that way.

I've been reading "The People's Hospital" by Ricardo Nuila, which talks about a safety-net hospital in Texas, Ben Taub, and American Healthcare. I haven't been able to consistently read a book easily for years now, but with all the things going on nowadays...yeah. Definitely recommend it.
