Minnesota pays ~$119 billion to the federal government in taxes and receives only ~$75 billion in benefits. If the Trump administration decides to withhold funds from liberal states and those states stop paying, the government will be broke very soon.

A 6-year-old just lost his mother. A woman was shot in the face in front of her wife. The swift, lockstep attempt to dehumanize and villainize Renee Nicole Good might be the most depraved thing we've seen yet from these ghouls and their supporters. These people are utterly fucking dead inside.

This is the only correct position, and the inevitable response from knee-jerk centrist reactionaries of "it won't work" is not a valid objection. Every member of Congress has a duty to say that what Noem has been doing is not acceptable.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today. This could be you.

This is a lie and should not be spread. Renee Good has a wife, who was, horrifically, in the car with her when she was executed by the government. It is flatly untrue to assert that child has no one else in his life.

It's good to use the resources at hand to fight because sometimes you win. Also, I keep thinking of the period after this man was killed and how a group of people tried to impose a new social reality. It didn't work. This too is a lesson.

More importantly, average drivers do not cause the bulk of street safety problems. Thereâs an 80/20 rule in street safety, and for the deadliest drivers, speed and risk are the reward. Prudent, anxious drivers (and transit users) are most interested in AVs, not the worst drivers. 8/

I get that nothing will come of this but if you want people to think a thing is bad you have to do things like this over and over, no matter how futile it feels or is. There's a reason the GOP voted at least 60 times on pointless attempts to repeal the ACA between 2010 and 2016.

The only US colony of substantial size, the Philippines, was already transitioning to independence pre-WWII, which is why it happened immediately after. It did sometimes get muddled because of anti-communism, to be sure, but the official US policy during and after WWII was always pro-decolonization.

The US pushed for decolonization. This was a point of contention as far back as FDR and Churchill clashing over it during the war. That's why it was baked into the UN Charter. We also excluded colonial empires from NATO coverage. Eisenhower threatened to crash the pound sterling over Suez, etc.
