I think all cars should come with ignition interlock devices installed, the same way seatbelts and airbags are. They don’t need to be punishment or surveillance, we could just make all cars not turn on if you’re drunk.

One of my favorite ways to study for finals in law school was to put recorded classes on 1.5x speed and go for a jog while I listened. Both for classes that I paid attention to and classes I doodled through. I don’t know why, things just stick better for me when my body is moving.

Doing something both is and feels better than doing nothing. It’s a balm for hopelessness.

My opinion about the language stuff is it probably matters more that you convince voters that you actually intend to do something about the very real problems they are experiencing than it does what specific words you use.
