Real ID doesn't prove citizenship but, in order to get one you need to provide a certified birth certificate, or passport. So it begs the question why it is not acceptable if it's a government issued ID?????

And if you are a divorced woman who changed her name upon marriage and then remarried and don't have a passport you need birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce decree, and new marriage license x every marriage.

I have a stack. Married twice. Changed my name twice. I need birth certificate, marriage certificate 1, divorce decree, and marriage certificate 2. (That’s to get a passport in Canada . To vote, you just need photo ID and some proof of your address. No registration required. Just show up and vote)

Of course if you are a married woman who took her husband’s name, you need the passport. In order to get a passport you will need to have the birth certificate and marriage license along with several other items.
