Unfortunately art is not a passive activity, so I can't just keep treating it like it's something I can just learn without effort. So being intentional with my choices and attentive to my preferences is something that I think will take me far

I did some studies of an artist I really like and took copious notes: what I liked, what I didn't like, what about certain pieces made me bounce off, what made me excited to draw, and I think the notes are gonna be the most helpful as I go on

I think more people should create personal zines of their artwork and I'm not just saying that because I want to Kirby-eat their art

I said I was gonna draw but in actuality what I'm really doing is going through every artist I like and systematically analyzing what draws me to their art, so that I can recreate it within my own art
