By far, for me, the best way to expose all the tweaks a track needs is to bounce it down and put it in a playlist with other potential tracks. Instant regret :-)

I think there is a lot of truth to this but also that electronic music that might have been foregrounded in the past is now background to some other activity like how ppl watch movies and scroll on their phones at the same time. It has a dulling effect. I think about this all the time.

The future will probably be noisy.
