The life of a book editor... picking up a book to spot check a quote you've forgotten, only to stumble across 2 typos and a continuity error that have been sitting there for 5+ years. *sigh* this is why reprint corrections were invented

Our Batman '89 Riddler's newspaper feature is its era's Wordle cash cow, and he works hard to get the right mix of clues. Some easy, so people will try them; some hard so not everyone will solve them; and all punny, so they'll read either way. His design also provides shortcuts to infer the answers.

Fun story from #NYCC. During Matt Stover's first signing we had a massive line. A reader brought with him 14 Stover books to get signed. This reader knew he would take awhile so he asked if he could be LAST in line so as not to delay his fellow readers in meeting Matt. (1/3)

Lots, but I'd say start with leveraging a bunch of informational interviews with folks in roles/companies you're interested in. Use them to learn as much as you can (since publishing remains a frustratingly insular industry). Ask for 10-15 min chats. Have 2 or 3 focused questions.

Out of respect and deep affection for all my authors I don't really pick favorites. But I have to say John Jackson Miller and I have been having delirious amounts of fun making #Batman novels. Sort of wild the sorts of story ideas we get to bring to life.

Yes. And it's happened more often as time has gone on. It makes reading for fun a bit harder nowadays. But mostly it's just curiosity about *how* a story decision ended up this way Happens less when I read wildly diff. genres from what I work on.
