Lots, but I'd say start with leveraging a bunch of informational interviews with folks in roles/companies you're interested in. Use them to learn as much as you can (since publishing remains a frustratingly insular industry). Ask for 10-15 min chats. Have 2 or 3 focused questions.

Out of respect and deep affection for all my authors I don't really pick favorites. But I have to say John Jackson Miller and I have been having delirious amounts of fun making #Batman novels. Sort of wild the sorts of story ideas we get to bring to life.

Building my first ever course on #editing / #publishing. If you were going to take a (paid) course - what sort of topics or focus would you want to see? (have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing, but still curious)

Sure Palpatine is the embodiment of #StarWars evil and all that, Grand Moff Tarkin, really wasn't all that far behind. You know its bad when you say "The Tarkin Massacre" and someone has to ask "which one" because you could be referencing like a half-dozen different events.

Here is the updated dedication Matt Stover asked us to include in the #StarWars #RevengeoftheSith Deluxe edition. Mr. Stover added it after I told him part of why we wanted him to annotate this book was to honor readers spending 20 years keeping the legacy of his writing alive.

I think a lot about what separates Terry McGinnis as #Batman vs Bruce Wayne. Because I've got a lot of free time on my hands. My evolving theory is that Bruce as Batman is defined by what he lost, and Terry as Batman is defined by what he *has* and is trying to preserve.

Fun #StarWars fact. When discussing an operation - Operation: Cinder, Operation: Fracture, Operation: Hand-off" a colon is required. When discussing a project - "Project Stardust, Project War-Mantle, Project Necromancer " a colon is not used.

For our #Batman Revolution novel this Oct, author John Jackson Miller and I worked on integrating puzzles/riddles into the book. Here's just one small tease of that. Want to learn the title of each book part? You have to solve and decipher a word search, first. (yes the book has answer keys)

As much as I would be thrilled to see any of the books I've ever worked on be adapted to a different medium - live action, animation, video-game, etc...that thrill would only be in the underlying work of the author getting more visibility. Because while its cool...adaptation is not validation.

I tend to keep my personal "likes" out of the decision making process. Where there's a compelling story to tell that an author has a strong point of view on and connection to...that's where I want our books set. Whatever that means.

For this particular story, and the particular goals we had, no, it was always going to be right around this area. It meant we could have Tech, as well as Phee and Pabu. It also meant putting the Batch in that space of grappling with what a "future" looks like re: Pabu, etc.

He understands every character of the Bad Batch perfectly. Not just their mannerisms, or the way they talk, but their core motivations, their relationships, everything. This book doesn't work unless Lamar nails all of it. And he does, and more.

That was one of the key goals. It is a kind of turning point, they're having to reckon with a kind of choice that they have never imagined before. Its not the end of that journey, but its a key part of it. While also getting to be an incredible stand-alone adventure with your old friends.

No. And you're going to get a third in the fall with Master of Evil. But none of that was by design or any sort of plan to feature the Imperial era. Just happens to be the right (or necessary) era for the specific stories we were telling. Pure coincidence.

How much the opening scenes TRULY feel like Lamar got his hands on an "unproduced" episode of the show. Its uncanny, but entirely his skill. The second is the introduction of both villains. They each declare their arrivals with true authority. And you immediately understand them, and their menace
