Five years ago today, I finally finished the puzzle I gave up on in 1978. The people who bought the house I was living in have yet to locate and mail me the missing pieces, and I still have not received an apology from Kenner for publishing a #starwars puzzle that was almost entirely empty space.

I just wrote my first scene ever starring a certain famous character... and had to sit back and smile. I felt just like when I was 16 writing on my first computer. Magical.

Nice way to bring this material back. The #Marvel series featured two-parter stories so cliffhangers were built into the format; two books definitely fits. Dark Horse did around the same number of #IndianaJones issues, including mine; no idea if it’ll get the same treatment, but here’s hoping.

Very sorry to learn of the passing of Tom Kane. I met Tom at All-Star Con in Virginia in 2018 where we did a panel together and were booth neighbors; his stories and impressions kept me in stitches all weekend. Saddened to see this — my thoughts are with his family.

Always fun seeing what I find while cleaning house. I stumbled over Tom Batiuk's art that he sent us for FUNKY WINKERBEAN'S 25th anniversary in the newspapers; it was our cover for COMICS BUYER'S GUIDE #1225 (May 9, 1997). It's his hand-colors; I suspect he has the original and didn't need it back.

On this Free Comic Book Day, my BATMAN: REVOLUTION novel got its first cosplayer as NickEccentric portrayed our Norman Pinkus version of the Riddler, as drawn by @joequinones.bsky.social!

A fun peculiarity picked up today. According to postal records, for every issue of DOCTOR STRANGE in 1982, Marvel printed an average of 652 sample copies and another sum for office use; the staffers' copies came out of these batches, and were often stamped as seen. Clearly someone rebelled!

Wearing purple in memory of #Prince, who departed 4 the Afterworld 10 years ago today. The world has never been the same. When I wrote my first novel based on BATMAN (1989), I shepherded the dedication through proofreading 2 make sure we spelled it the way he liked. He is missed more than ever.

Startled to read that HEATHERS’ widest release in 1989 was apparently 54 theaters. Truly a Blockbuster Video phenomenon.
