A small headcanon I have. A lot of grass type pokemon that rely on photosynthesis probably function more similarly to Carnivorous(or in this case likely omnivorous) plants. As most pokemon spend more energy than an actual plant. They likely need actual food instead of purely photosynthesis to live.
