My daughter is a genius. She has made the Christmas cake as a wreath which has lots of benefits: A) it is much easier to cut B) more icing per slice C) the middle circle has made a very cute mini cake.

Those who teach in a regular school rather than a boarding school will never now the exquisite pleasure of an exeat weekend.

What a brilliant, and completely knackering, week. We had the moon rocks in school and managed to get all year 7-11 to see them (except for a few who had rugby match). Totally awesome to have actual samples from Apollo 15,16 and 17.

I had such a fun day today. Year 6 students came in for an assessment day and did a mini science lesson. I demoed dry ice sublimation - they loved seeing it used as a fire extinguisher and catching a balloon that was heavier than expected.

Today’s marking excitement is Environmental science end of topic test. Though I am procrastinating and leaving the essay until tomorrow as that scares me. #ADHDTeacher #EduSky

I honestly don’t know how anyone marks for the exams. Yes earn some money and great CPD but not worth the pain of the boredom.

Just finished the first day of CanSat training at the STEMlearning centre in York. Great day but that was a lot of coding in one day!

It is hard to pick a highlight from yesterday. Took the Alevel environment science students out into a field to look at diversity and soil. Year 10 had a good lesson developing a practical to investigate personal power climbing stairs. #ITeachPhysics #TodaysLesson

Today’s highlight. I have picked up a foundation tier year 11 class who are very low in confidence. I used @isaacphysics.org questions starting with the ones designed for year 7&8 to get a high success rate and to expose misconception. Nice, easy to use scaffolding. #ITeachPhysics #TodaysLesson
