🧵 “Missouri wasn’t like this when I was growing up.” Republicans have controlled the Missouri legislature since 2002. What’s their legacy? Struggling towns, crumbling roads, 4-day school weeks, and 19 hospital closures. They’re arrogant enough to think you won’t notice they caused the failures.

Trump’s approval amongst 18-29 has gone from +5 to -29 in just a few months. It can go much lower than that, and it will as @votersoftomorrow.org continues to educate Gen Z on Trump’s attacks on our future.

Frankly, Cori Bush should have been as protected and supported by white progressives as Bernie Sanders has been. I don’t agree with everything Sanders or Bush has said. But every shut eye ain’t sleep. And don’t “well, actually” me. If the US left keeps dismissing our concerns as idpol, we lose.

I wish I could find dark humor in the fact that red, rural, Trump-voting communities will be most likely to lose their libraries if the IMLS is defunded. But instead my heart is with all the undeserving folks who will be harmed. 📚

Here's what I've been hearing lately: Librarians are going to save us. Black women are going to save us. Young people are going to save us. Somebody needs to save us. But if we all do something, no matter how small, we can save each other.

ONE parent. And in Florida, ONE man is responsible for 40% of all book challenges in the state. The book banners are a tiny minority. Make that clear by speaking up in favor of the freedom to read. (Email your school board!)
