Don't be the person who just assumes people with disabilities can't do things. We aren't all experiencing the same disabilities. Some of us can't see, can't walk, can't speak etc etc. That doesn't mean some of us can't drive, can't ride a bike, can't walk etc. Disabilities aren't the same for all!

I have to dispose of some electronics this week and will be taking them to a recycler. Wish governments would start realizing that recycling rare earth minerals and reselling them to industry would be a great national security, economic and ecological benefit. We don't need to mine if we recycle!

I wish I could say that KCATA didn't really mess up this new fare rollout, but boy they messed this up. Only 2 places to buy passes, not all passes available, not all busses had kiosks Installed then the "server" they use to manage all this went "down". KC deserves better!

Not having overlapping north south bus routes because of the streetcar leaves people abandoned when the @kcstreetcar.org is not operational like today. I had to call a $12 Lyft to get home. The streetcar is great but we need multiple options and KC Public Transit is failing us who need it

Got the all clear today. Retina is firmly in place. The two tears are healing with minimal scar tissue & the returning eye sight is still 20/50 with glasses so the same as it was before which while not great vision it hasn't deteriorated any further. Once I feel comfortable, it's back on the bike!

Since my eye surgeries many in my very religious family & some religious friends have been telling me how great God is & how blessed is his healing. That's cool, but sorry, you can't give credit without acknowledging God willingly allowed my eyes to break in the first place.

It's hard to have this kind of tree canopy with cars due to the need for "clear zones" to ensure drivers who will crash their cars have a clear area to crash without hitting objects. This is never an issue with bikes! Cars and nature really can't coexist, but bicycles and nature can!

The thing about eye surgery that no one tells about is how much the light is going to hurt once your vision starts to return. All day I've had a black eye patch on, and all the shades drawn and it's still too damn bright! Also why did I choose to pull two 12 hour days my first week back???

Interesting. I've worked at a university for 27 years, am currently disabled & also had favorable parking because I rode my bike. In those 27 years, ZERO people were killed on campus by bikes. 5 have been killed by cars, & dozens injured including a pregnant woman hit by a drunk driver!

Is something walkable if you can only access it by driving to it? While the 18th and Vine plaza is more walkable, you still need to drive there to access it, which is why the city built a big new expensive garage. The vast majority of this project was the cost of that parking garage!

I walk around every day & I am just so embarrassed by our crumbling sidewalks, lack of sidewalks, sidewalks that aren't ADA & just have big curbs that block or hinder mobility service users. KCMO has been putting in a good fight to repair or install as much as they can but it is not enough.
