Poor Rudy threw out his back yesterday. We had to sit at the vets office for 2 hours because pets all wait for holidays to get sick so the vet was running very behind. He's on a steroid for inflammation and a pain medicine that makes him sleepy. No walks or stairs for 2-3 weeks.

Today I'm going to attempt to build my chickens a porch. It's been very cold and windy and their door opens to the fenced in run on the windy side. It's making the shed much colder and they're molting so they're already at a disadvantage. At night the door is closed so it's not an issue.

One year ago was one of the most stressful times in my life as we were in the midst of moving from Georgia to Pennsylvania. I still have moving nightmares! I'm so glad to be mostly settled and happy here. House is definitely still a WIP but it feels like home when I let my guard down.
