The challenge with Attie for the builder community isn't the use of AI. It's the question of whether Bluesky begins absorbing/cannibalizing existing ecosystems within the Atmosphere.

Getting lots of meatspace questions about how do I square what Bluesky said at #atmosphereconf with Attie, and what that choice signals for the ecosystem. Basic rule: nevermind what people say, watch what they do.

If we want users to fund the ATmosphere, friction needs to be negligible. I told @devingaffney.com a few weeks ago that the cleanest path I saw for Bsky is the Stripe+Scroll of social. Enter card once, monthly charge, Bsky takes a cut, the rest gets distributed among the apps they use the most.

Oh this is interesting. At first I thought it was yet another lexicon to wrap data on, but it's a way for anyone to use ATProto as a discovery mechanism for their non-PDS-hosted datasets. I hadn't thought of the ATmosphere and the relays as a way to surface arbitrary existing data until know.

The @wired.com subscriber list seems to have been pwnd - I keep getting spam and phishing attempts on a one-off address I used to subscribe to it.
