Pulled up to a coffee shop with
@malaclypse.bsky.social
to find a couple locking up their bike and they said, "Yay! More bikers!" When has anyone in a parking lot ever said, "Yay! More drivers!"

What if Boston made it safe enough to bike to any neighborhood so you don't have to be afraid of car drivers? Photo of Blue Hill Av "bike lane" for no particular reason

One intersection that bugs me every time I go through it is Amory and Green. Why is there no LPI literally at a T station? Pedestrians should be prioritized everywhere in Boston but particularly in high pedestrian areas like a T station.

Riding a BlueBike to work took a whopping 21 minutes, up from 20 minutes in a sunny day! But sure, it’s the bike lanes causing traffic on our highways, definitely not the number of cars 🙄

I’m required by my work to rely more and more on AI to code. The more I try to rely on it, the worse it seems to be. It constantly generates bugs, unperformant code, and hard to read logic. I can’t stop thinking about all the resources I’m burning just to delete its output. The bubble needs to pop.

It's incredibly frustrating that flex posts are the only thing that keep delivery trucks from blocking safe bike lanes. Boston, can't we do better than this? Can we get some concrete here?

Really proud of myself! Rode a quick (for me) 106 miles from Boston to the New Hampshire border and back. It was an absolutely beautiful day for a bike ride, and the rail trails of MA are such an incredible resource. Only got stuck waiting for one train! Biking in New England really is special.

I don Lycra for 50+ mile leisure rides in the countryside. I throw on normal workout clothes for my bike commute to/from work. I don’t even bother changing out of my street clothes to ride an e-bike to the local grocery store. I’m the same person in all contexts, no matter how you perceive me.

Mass. voters were told millionaires would leave the state in droves if the millionaires tax passed and revenue would decline. Two years later, there are more millionaires living here than ever and the state collected $2.2 billion from the surtax.

I think one of the gosh-darned coolest things about Critical Mass Boston last night was the sheer an amount of public transit drivers cheering us on. Both MBTA bus and subway drivers showing support for cyclist taking back space from cars. Truly a beautiful display of solidarity!

I don’t need a car to grab weekly groceries and a bouquet of flowers! An e-bike does the trick. One of the reasons I love living I Boston. We need to do better, but at least biking here is more possible than where I grew up.

Who needs a car for normal errands? I can grab an entire week’s worth of groceries and swing by the florist to pick up a bouquet for my wife 💐. Those who say you “need” a car for everything are lying to you. Obviously, some people do, but so many of us do not.

Every single autistic person I know does all the things RFK Jr. claims they don’t. Being neurodivergent doesn’t mean you’re not a member of our community. With the proper amount of support, everyone can live a fulfilling life. Fuck off with this insane bullshit that some people don’t matter.

Pedal Safe Boston is a sham organization funded by a hundred-millionaire who doesn’t like bike lanes in front of his Back Bay mansion. Are we really gonna let rich people like Jay Cashman dictate what we do with our cities? Build the lanes!

Took the road bike out of winter hibernation. Brakes definitely need a bleed. Back brake didn’t really bite at all, which got me into a wee bit of trouble at a stoplight. Is it a problem? Yes. Did I learn my lesson? No. Will I make the same mistake again? Absolutely!

Bike lanes keep me safe as I commute to work, shop for groceries, meet up with friends, and explore our great city. Please do all you can to continue rolling out protections for cyclists and pedestrians. Boston is better when we have safe, non-car options for getting around!

Bicycles challenge capitalism by promoting health (reducing medical costs), replacing cars (no loans, fuel, or insurance), and reducing consumerism (less spending on goods). They foster local economies, cut emissions, and prioritize community spaces over profit-driven, car-centric urban models.
