On flag day, neighbors remembered our commonality as Americans to honor the memory of US Navy Petty Officer Tim “Doc” Cook & raise awareness on PTSD. The foundation provides scholarships to youth for demonstrating knowledge on impacts to veterans, Gold Star & military families.

We continued our day with the St. Botolph Neighborhood Association for their Love Your Block clean up! These community events are wonderful in that they bring neighborhoods together, even in the rain (and maybe snow? ❄️)

I had the privilege to offer a @bostoncitycouncil.bsky.social resolution in recognition of Tuskegee Airmen Day in Boston. Their heroic service and sacrifice during World War II was a key factor in pushing the U.S. military toward desegregation and inspiring future generations of Black aviators.

It was wonderful to join colleagues in gov’t and friends and supporters of the Blackstone Elementary School, for their “Read Across Blackstone Event.” Reading provides us with commonality and increases our empathy for neighbors so that we can better connect with one another.

Last night, @bostoncitycouncil.bsky.social Committee on Ways & Means, chaired @brianworrell.bsky.social,held a public testimony session on FY26 budget. Residents advocated for our parks, services for youth, BPS students, seniors, public safety initiatives & home improvement grants, to name a few!

I wrote to @warren.senate.gov & @markey.senate.gov to oppose dismantling the Institute of Museums and Library Services. Museums & libraries are spaces for learning and places where ideas are exchanged. An executive order threatens the role these institutions play in our city & nation. #bospoli
