Today, we pause to remember the lives lost 24 years ago and honor the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation. Boston EMS is proud to once again support the American Red Cross National Day of Service and Remembrance Blood Drive at Fenway Park.

Boston honors the memories of those killed in the tragic events of September 11th, including those aboard AA Flight 11 and UA Flight 175, which had departed from Logan Airport. We hold the loved ones of those lost close and remember the courage and care shown by Americans in service of one another.

Keeping kids safe on the road starts with a properly installed car seat — but did you know that most are installed incorrectly? We can help. This week, #BostonEMS partnered with Boston Community Pediatrics to help families install their child safety seats the right way. (1/2)

After nearly 40 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston, Superintendent Leonard Shubitowski, is retiring from Boston EMS. Len began his journey as an EMT in 1985, became a Paramedic in 1989, rose to Deputy Superintendent in 2016, and Superintendent in 2022.

Join us on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at Boston’s City Hall Plaza for the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 National EMS Memorial Bike Ride. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the bike ride which originated in Boston.

Today, we celebrate Deputy Superintendent Steve McHugh as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement after 33+ years of dedicated service to Boston EMS. Starting as EMT 627 in June 1991, he was promoted to Medic 183 just six years later.
