Groceries have become so expensive. Ms. Shirley and the staff at Shirley's Pantry are working hard to meet the needs of our residents and families who are food insecure in Boston. In November, they distributed some 300 holiday baskets and turkeys. Now they expect they’ll do the same for Christmas.

The BTD Markings Team completed 42 miles of striping, installed 23 new crosswalks, and re-striped 1,694 crosswalks across the City. As part of the annual school zone refresh, BTD also made sign changes and upgrades to eight schools and refreshed pavement markings at 11 schools.

This construction season, the City rebuilt nearly 37,000 feet of new sidewalk, reconstructed a record 1,723 ADA compliant ramps, and filled more than 4,000 potholes. Check out our video from this summer about how sidewalks get repaired in Boston:
