NEH just sent new guidance about terminated awards that includes the following: "7. Appeals--NEH is not offering a means of dispute resolution" Yet that is clearly at odds with the Terms & Conditions for Orgs governing our awards. They are trying to discourage appeals. Submit them anyway.

Wow. It's almost as if the enrollment crisis has more to do with declining state funding and rising tuition costs than a slight decline in the number of college-age students. Who would have guessed?

Two weeks ago, I found out my position at St. Norbert College had been eliminated due to budget cuts: one of 21 faculty positions (13 in the humanities) eliminated at the college so far this year. I was under tenure review, and now I'm not. I have until May, and then my contract will be done.
